Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was a natural athlete and enjoyed playing tough athletic games. She combined this interest with an innate talent for acting. It was evident when she was awarded each Feis in drama and theatre the Irish had to offer. In her teens, she had been accepted to the Abbey Theater, where her enthusiasm for classical theatre and operatic music was followed. Charles Laughton became captivated with Maureen's stunningly beautiful eyes after he saw a screen-test. Laughton and his partner Erich Pommer changed Maureen FitzSimons' identity to "Maureen O'Hara" which was a shorter name for the marquee before casting for her role as an actress in Jamaica Inn, (1939). Maureen FitzSimons' next film (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1939-1939) was set to be produced in the studio of RKO Pictures in America under a contract to Laughton. Maureen was able to purchase her contract from Laughton following the film's success. an enormous success. Maureen Laughton had appeared featured in two major motion films at the age of 19 years old.
