Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the arts of performing, and which we now know to be Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier for her place in the "child prodigy" category. For a child with Irish roots, surrounded as she was by gifted parents and family members did this naturally. Maureen came to this loving haven, August 17, 1920. She was raised by her parents and family members. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was a contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin business, and had shares in the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons complete this wonderful family. Maureen did well in sports and was a lover of rough play. Furthermore her talent, she also had a knack to act. This is why she was awarded almost all of the Feis Awards for her dramatic and acting performances in her country of birth. When she turned 14, the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her passion for classical theatre as well as singing opera.
