Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a school teacher and her mom was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. At a young age McCormick was a singer and dance, and she would frequently perform puppet shows for kids in the community. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 which led to being contacted by talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she would like to work in show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was during 1964, where she was featured in a commercial on TV for Mattels new doll Baby Pattaburp. The year that followed, she appeared in another television commercial for Chatty Cathy's doll. Soon afterward, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of the character It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked out of a crowd of over 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance for the role of the oldest of three towheaded daughters in the upcoming TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The five-year run of the show was a great success. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick admitted that in the shows fifth season she nearly lost her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was just 16. She said that it would be possible, however it was never the best moment to make the decision.
